FINALLY Supply is reducing for the first time this year. The number of sales remains low but steady. Buyers still need to move and a pent up demand has grown all year although buyers continue to struggle with mortgage affordability. Despite asking prices rising for most of the year, the completed sale prices in september, from sales agreed earlier in the year, actually fell. We await the October data from Land Registry but expect this to be lower too following a high level of price reductions where sellers have had to compete to secure a buyer.
